Transmission Range Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The PCM monitors a series of step down resistors in the Transmission Range (TR) sensor that act as a voltage divider. The voltage signal corresponds with position of the transaxle selector lever. The TR sensor also contains the neutral/start and back-up light circuits. Malfunction of the TR sensor may cause harsh engagements and firm shift feel. Improper shifting or shift selection and no engine cranking may also result.
