Leak Test (CNG)

NOTE: DO NOT use Rotunda Combustible Gas Detector on CNG equipped vehicles.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Rotate quarter-turn valve located under rear of vehicle to open position. Ensure CNG tank is filled to 1500 psi (105.5 kg/cm2 ). Set manual shutoff valve to the open position.
  2. Apply a quality leak reactant or equivalent over high-pressure fittings and lines. Start with the fuel tank filler valve and proceed to the check valve and the rest of the system.
  3. Leaks from the CNG system will exhibit soapy bubbles. A mild soap and water solution may be used as an alternative. If any leaks are discovered, evacuate fuel tank. See FUEL SYSTEM VENTING in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - CNG/LPG (BI-FUEL) article. Repair any leaks detected.
  4. Fill the CNG tank to 3000 psi (211 kg/cm2 ). Repeat steps  2 and  3 to detect any other leaks. If no leaks are detected, place manual shutoff valve to normal operation position.
