Power Steering Pump to Steering Gear Pressure Line: Installation

- Using the special tool, install a new Teflon® seal on the high pressure line fitting.
- Position the high pressure line and connect the high pressure line fitting-to-pump.
- If equipped with 4.6L or 5.4L engine, tighten to 65 Nm (48 lb-ft).
- If equipped with 4.2L engine, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- Install the high pressure line bracket-to-engine bolt on the 5.4L, or the nut on the 4.2L and 4.6L.
- If equipped with a 4.2L or 4.6L engine, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
- If equipped with a 5.4L engine, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the high pressure line bracket-to-crossmember bolt.
- Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
- Install a new O-ring seal and position the high pressure line on the steering gear.
- Rotate the power steering line clamp plate install the bolt.
- Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
