Exhaust Manifold - LH: Installation

  1. Inspect the LH exhaust manifold gasket mating surfaces for flatness. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  2. Install 6 new LH exhaust manifold studs.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
  3. Position a new LH exhaust manifold gasket and the LH exhaust manifold and install 6 new nuts.
    • Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown to 25 Nm (18 lb-in).

  4. Position the engine lifting eye and install the nuts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  5. Attach the dual converter Y-pipe and install the 2 nuts.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  6. Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
    7. NOTE: Install a new O-ring seal on the oil level indicator tube. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  7. Position the oil level indicator and tube and install the bolt.
    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
