Engine Support Insulators

    Both sides 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. NOTE: Early build vehicles are equipped with an M14 through bolt. Late build vehicles are equipped with an Ml8 bolt.
  3. Remove the LH engine support insulator through bolt.
    • To install, tighten early build (Ml4) bolts to 220 Nm (162 lb-ft).
    • To install, tighten late build (Ml8) bolts to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
  4. CAUTION: Make sure the RH engine support insulator mating surfaces and the washer mating surface are free of foreign material and corrosion before installation. Install a new washer.
  5. Remove the RH engine support insulator nuts and washer.
    • To install, tighten to 250 Nm (184 lb-ft).
  6. Remove the A/C compressor and power steering pump bracket brace upper nut and install the special tool.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  7. NOTE: Use a 10 mm (0.39 in) spring link to connect the Engine Lifting Bracket to the 3-Bar Engine Support.

  8. Install the special tool and lift the engine approximately 75 mm (3 in).
  9. RH side 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine support insulator-to-bracket mating surfaces and the bolt holes in the bracket of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  10. Remove the bolts and the RH engine support insulator.
    • Apply Threadlock 262 to the bolt threads prior to installation.
    • To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
  11. LH side 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine support insulator-to-bracket mating surfaces and the bolt holes in the bracket of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  12. Remove the bolts and the LH engine support insulator.
    • Apply Threadlock 262 to the bolt threads prior to installation.
    • To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
  13. Both sides 

  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
