Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  3. NOTE: Clean and inspect the heater outlet tube O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine coolant.
  4. Remove the bolt and position the heater outlet tube aside.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  6. Remove the bolts and the CMP sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
