Removal and Installation

- Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE - 5.4L (3V) .
- Remove the bolts and the bypass tube.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove and inspect the gaskets. Install new gaskets if necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Clean the gasket mating surfaces with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
