Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Remove the throttle body (TB). For additional information, refer to THROTTLE BODY .
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .
  5. Release the clamp and disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.

  6. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .

  7. Disconnect the crankcase vent hose quick connect coupling at the rear of the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .

  8. Disconnect the crankcase vent hose quick connect coupling at the RH valve cover. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .

  9. Disconnect the TB spacer vacuum hose.

  10. Release the clamp and remove and plug the coolant hose.

  11. Release the clamp and remove and plug the coolant hose.

  12. Remove the 4 TB spacer bolts and the TB spacer.
    • Discard the TB spacer gasket.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

  13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
