Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
- Remove the dust cap.
- Remove the axle-to-wheel hub nut
- To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
- Detach the wheel speed sensor harness from the brake hose.
- Remove the anchor plate bolts.
- To install, tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
- Remove the brake caliper, pads and anchor plate as an assembly.
- Using mechanic's wire, position the brake assembly aside.
- Remove the brake disc.
- Remove the front wheel speed sensor.
- Remove the front wheel speed sensor bolt.
- Detach the wheel speed sensor from the hub.
- Remove the 4 wheel hub-to-wheel knuckle bolts.
- To install, tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
- Remove the wheel bearing and hub.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the hose or damage to the hose can occur.
CAUTION:
Do not use a hammer to separate the halfshaft from the hub.
