Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

  1. Remove the flexplate or flywheel. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE  or FLYWHEEL .
  2. Using the special tools, remove and discard the crankshaft oil slinger.

  3. Using the special tools, remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal.

  4. Remove the 2 rear oil pan-to-crankshaft rear seal retainer plate bolts.
  5. Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
