Analysis of Vibration: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
Both wheels of a vehicle equipped with a limited slip differential will always be driving. If only one wheel is raised off the floor and the rear axle is driven by the engine, the wheel on the floor can drive the vehicle off the stand or jack. Be sure both rear wheels are off the floor.
Few vibration conditions are caused by the front or rear axle. For a vibration concern, follow the diagnosis procedure in NOISE, VIBRATION & HARSHNESS , unless there is a good reason to suspect the axle.
