Diagnostic Aids

Perform this test when instructed during SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS or another SYSTEM TEST. This test is used to diagnose the following:

Throttle body assembly.
Accelerator cable - Linkage to throttle body.
Air cleaner assembly (including air filter).
Air inlet tube.
Clean air tube (hose) and resonator.

System Inspection

Visually inspect components of intake air system. Check for loose, kinked, pinched, or damaged air or damaged vacuum lines. Damaged or loose connections, insulation or air flow sensor.
Check intake air hoses for cracking, loose clamps or a disconnected hose.
If all checks are okay, proceed to TESTING .
