Evaporative Emission System Monitor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mercury Villager. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system monitor is a self-test strategy within PCM that tests integrity of EVAP system. When a fault occurs, EVAP system monitor is reset to "No" and a DTC is set in PCM memory. After DTC is repaired, vehicle drive cycle must be driven to reset monitor in preparation for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing.
