Front Seat Backrest - With Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR): Removal

  1. Remove the affected front seat cushion. For additional information, refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION - WITH SEAT INTEGRATED RESTRAINTS (SIR)  in this article.
  2. Remove the safety belt buckle attachment nut and release the safety belt buckle from the seat.

  3. Disconnect seat backrest recliner control cable, remove the front seat backrest recliner bolt and safety belt anchor nut.
    1. Release the seat backrest recliner control cable from its two attachment points.
    2. Remove the front seat backrest recliner bolt.
    3. Remove safety belt anchor nut.

  4. NOTE: Discard the two front seat backrest pivot bolts and install new bolts during reassembly.
    NOTE: Slowly feed the recliner cable through the riser slot as the seat backrest is removed.

  5. Remove the two front seat backrest pivot bolts and the seat backrest.
