Removal and Installation

NOTE: New retaining bolts (W710721) must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. Retaining studs and nuts can be reused.
  1. Remove the seat mounting retainer covers.
  2. Remove the front safety belts from the front seat. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
  3. NOTE: Removing the front seat requires more than one technician.
  4. Remove the front bench seat.
    • Remove and discard the front two mounting retaining bolts.
    • Remove the rear two nuts.
    • Disconnect the safety belt buckle electrical connector, and remove the front seat.

  5. NOTE: When installing the seat, tighten the new front mounting bolts, then the rear mounting nuts.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Adjust the seat to the full forward and rearward positions a few times to assure safety belt and buckle accessibility.
    • Make sure the safety belt is not twisted prior to installation.
  7. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
