Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Heater Element - 5.4L: Removal

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater element electrical connector.
- Disconnect the quick release couplings and remove the PCV tube.
- Push the fitting toward the tube to release pressure.
- Push the green release tab clockwise.
- Disconnect the quick release fitting.
- After both fittings are disconnected, remove the PCV tube.
- Remove the bolts and the PCV heater element.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
CAUTION:
When reusing liquid or vapor tube connectors, make sure to use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube.
