Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the rear door speaker. For additional information, refer to SPEAKERS .
  3. Release the lower door latch cable and conduit from the remote control.
    1. Open the locking clip and release the cable.
    2. Release the cable conduit.

  4. Remove the lower rear door latch.
    • Remove the screws.

    5. NOTE: If a new component is to be installed, refer to the Ford Master Parts Catalog for specific part information. The linkage must be adjusted during installation. For additional information, refer to LATCH CABLE ADJUSTMENT - REAR, SUPERCAB  in this article.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
