Removal & Installation

  1. Remove air inlet tube(s) as necessary. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect accelerator cable, accelerator return spring and speed control cable. Disconnect vacuum line from right side of throttle body spacer. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) and Throttle Position (TP) sensor connectors. Disconnect power brake booster vacuum line.
  2. Remove throttle body and throttle body spacer. Disconnect injection pressure sensor and fuel temperature sensor electrical connectors. Disconnect right radio capacitor and fuel shut off valve solenoid connectors. Disconnect right fuel injector connectors. Remove right side fuel injection supply manifold retaining bolts. Disconnect left fuel injector connectors. Disconnect left radio capacitor connector. Remove left fuel injection supply manifold retaining bolts. Disconnect fuel line. See FUEL LINE FITTINGS . Remove fuel injection supply manifold. Remove fuel injectors.
  3. Install NEW "O" rings with 5W-30 motor oil. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure injectors and/or injector sleeves are properly seated. Tighten fuel rail bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. After installation is completed, pressurize fuel system and inspect fuel lines and fittings for leaks. Perform COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS LEAK TEST under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - NGV article.
