Removal and Installation

    Primary and auxiliary battery positive and negative cables 

  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL .
  2. Primary battery negative cable 

  3. Remove the battery negative cable body ground screw.

  4. Remove the nut and position the battery positive cable and bracket aside.

  5. Remove the bolt and position the battery negative cable aside.

  6. NOTE: Position the RH splash shield aside to access to battery negative cable bolt.

  7. Remove the bolt and the primary battery negative cable.
  8. Auxiliary battery negative cable 

    NOTE: Position the LH splash shield aside for access to battery negative cable bolt.

  9. Remove the bolt and the auxiliary battery negative cable.
  10. Primary and auxiliary battery positive cable 

  11. Disconnect the starter motor connections.
    1. Remove the nut and disconnect the solenoid cable.
    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter motor positive cable.

    3. Remove the nut and position the battery positive cable and bracket aside.

    4. Release the battery positive cable locators from the engine and frame.
    5. Remove the nut and position the generator B+ cable aside.

    6. Disconnect the battery positive cable electrical connector.
      • Release the battery positive cable locators from the battery tray.

  12. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and position the upper radiator air deflector aside.
  13. Remove the bolts and position the upper radiator support brackets aside.

  14. Remove the nut and position the battery junction box cable aside.

  15. Remove the primary and auxiliary battery positive cable.
    • Release the battery positive cable locators.

  16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
