SYMPTOM CHART - ELECTRONIC SHIFT

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • No communication with the 4WD control module
  • 4WD control module (GEM).
  • Central junction box (CJB).
  • CJB fuse 34 (10A), 45 (10A), 33 (10A).
  • Circuitry.
  • The vehicle does not shift between 2WD and 4WD correctly
  • CJB fuse 59 (30A), 27 (15A).
  • Mode select switch (MSS).
  • Transfer case shift relays.
  • Contact plate A, B, C, or D.
  • Gearmotor encoder assembly.
  • Circuitry.
  • 4WD control module (GEM).
  • Transfer case mechanism.
  • The vehicle does not shift between 4x4 and 4x4 LOW modes correctly
  • CJB fuse 59 (30A).
  • MSS.
  • PARK/NEUTRAL position switch.
  • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch.
  • 4WD control module (GEM).
  • Transfer case.
  • Anti-lock brake control (ABS) module.
  • Circuitry.
  • The front axle does not engage correctly
  • CJB fuse 27 (15A).
  • Pulse vacuum hublock (PVH) solenoid.
