Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the 2 damper nuts.
- Remove the 2 damper-to-bracket bolts and the damper.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Do not loosen or remove the damper bracket U-bolt nuts. The alignment of the damper bracket is critical to avoid interference, binding, or over-extension of the damper.
NOTE:
When repairing the linkage clean the damper shaft of all corrosion and dirt. Buff the damper shaft smooth. Repairing the linkage changes the damper travel slightly. A dirty/corroded shaft can damage the damper seal and create a leak.
