Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: HO2S may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C). If necessary, use a penetrant to help in loosening HO2S.

For left side sensor removal, raise and support vehicle. For right side sensor removal, remove right front wheel and tire assembly. Position right front fender splash shield aside. On both sensors, use Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket (T94P-9472-A) and remove HO2S. Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to threads of HO2S. Tighten HO2S sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To install, reverse removal procedure.
