Removal & Installation

  1. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK . Clean area around fuel pump mounting flange. Using Fuel Tank Lock Ring Wrench (310-075), remove fuel tank pump assembly locking retainer ring. Fuel pump assembly must be removed and handled carefully to avoid damage to float arm and filter. Remove fuel pump assembly. Remove and discard fuel pump mounting gasket.
  2. Clean fuel pump mounting flange and fuel tank mounting surface. Install a new fuel pump mounting gasket. Using fuel tank lock ring wrench, tighten fuel pump assembly locking retainer ring to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
