Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the brake pads. For additional information, refer to BRAKE PADS .
  2. Remove and discard the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts.
    • On F-250, F-350, tighten to 225 Nm (166 lb-ft).
    • On F-450, F-550, tighten to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).

  3. Inspect the brake caliper anchor plate assembly.
    • Check the guide pin boots for damage.
    • Check the guide pins for binding and damage.
    • Replace worn or damaged pins. Lube the pins with silicone grease.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
