Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Release fuel pressure. See LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS FUEL LINE VENTING  under FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect electrical connectors on engine wiring harness, if necessary.
  2. Disconnect fuel line to fuel shutoff solenoid. Remove fuel shutoff solenoid. Disconnect vaporizer vent line and vaporizer coolant hoses. Disconnect fuel lines from vaporizer. Disconnect electrical connector to cold start heater. Remove 2 bolts retaining vaporizer and remove vaporizer assembly.
  3. NOTE: Coolant may flow in either direction through vaporizer.
  4. Install vaporizer and 2 bolts. Connect electrical connector to cold start heater. Connect fuel lines and coolant hoses to vaporizer. Connect vaporizer vent line. Install fuel shutoff solenoid. Connect fuel line to fuel shutoff solenoid. Connect all electrical connectors on engine wiring harness, if removed.
  5. Connect negative battery cable. Fill and bleed cooling system. Pressurize LPG fuel system. After installation is complete, LPG system must be leak tested.
