Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: On installation, use NEW "O" rings. Lubricate NEW "O" rings with 5W-30 motor oil.
  1. Release CNG fuel system pressure. See COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS FUEL LINE VENTING  under FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine cooling system.
  2. Disconnect pressure relief vent hose. Disconnect fuel lines. Disconnect electrical connector and 2 coolant hoses from fuel pressure regulator. Remove 2 bolts retaining fuel pressure regulator and remove fuel pressure regulator. To install, reverse removal procedure. After installation is complete, fuel lines and fittings must be leak tested. See LEAK TEST - ALL BI-FUEL VEHICLES under FUEL SYSTEMS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - EEC-V - BI-FUEL article.
