Removal (3.0L - Upper)

  1. Remove air cleaner and air induction tubes. Remove engine cover. Disconnect throttle cable and speed control actuator from throttle body. Remove throttle cable bracket from intake manifold. Disconnect throttle position sensor, idle air control valve and engine control sensor wiring connectors.
  2. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) vacuum hose and tube nut. Disconnect EGR vacuum regulator valve harness connector and vacuum hose. Remove vacuum hoses from back of manifold. Remove vapor management valve vacuum hose. Disconnect 2 harness connectors at upper left side of intake manifold. Disconnect power steering pressure sensor harness connector. Remove transmission vent hose bracket bolt and move hose aside. Remove wire harness nut. Remove upper intake manifold retaining bolts in REVERSE ordering of tightening sequence. See Fig 1. Remove upper intake manifold.
