Fuel Tank: E550

Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain fuel from fuel tank. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect fuel tank filler pipe and filler vent tube from the fuel tank. Disconnect evaporative emission hose and fuel tank pressure sensor electrical harness connector. Disconnect the fuel tank electrical harness connector. Disconnect hoses from fuel tank. Position jack under the fuel tank. Remove 12 bolts and lower the fuel tank. Remove nuts and the fuel tank straps. If the fuel tank is being replaced, transfer components as needed. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification.
