E150-450 Aft Tank

Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain fuel from fuel tank. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect fuel tank filler pipe and filler vent tube from fuel tank. See Fig 1. Position jack under fuel tank. Remove bolts and nuts. Remove fuel tank support straps. Partially lower the fuel tank. Disconnect fuel lines and fuel tank pressure sensor electrical harness connector. Lower the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is being replaced, transfer fuel pump, fuel tank sending unit, evaporative emission valves and fuel tank pressure sensor to new fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Perform leak check and monitor procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEMS.
