Removal and Installation

    Vehicles with 4.6L, 5.4L or 6.8L engine 

  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the battery (10655).
  3. Remove the battery tray.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the battery tray.

  4. Vehicles equipped with 6.0L diesel engine 

  5. Move the junction block assembly.
    • Remove the three screws.

  6. Vehicles equipped with A/C 

    NOTE: This step must be carried out if the vehicle is equipped with an A/C system.
  7. Move the suction accumulator (19C836).
    1. Remove the three screws.
    2. Move the suction accumulator.

  8. All vehicles 

    NOTE: To ease removal, align the flat spot on the blower motor mounting plate with the accumulator.
  9. Remove the blower motor (19805).
    1. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
    2. Remove the blower motor housing tube (19A786).
    3. Remove four screws.
    4. Remove the retaining clip.
    5. Remove the blower motor.

  10. NOTE: Note the location of the blower motor wheel (18504) on the blower motor.
  11. Remove the blower motor wheel.
    1. Remove the retaining clip.
    2. Remove the blower motor wheel.

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
