Removal and Installation

    WARNING: Smoking and open flame of any type must not be present when working near fuel or fuel vapor. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect both battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Open the fuel/water separator drain valve to release the fuel pressure.

  4. Disconnect the fuel conditioning module electrical connectors.

  5. NOTE: Rear fuel hoses shown, front fuel hoses similar.

  6. Remove the fuel hoses retaining clips. Using the special tool, disconnect the four fuel hoses.
  7. Disconnect the wiring push pin. Remove the mounting bolts and the fuel conditioning module.

  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
