Fuel Injection Supply Manifold & Injectors: Removal

- Ensure ignition switch is turned to OFF position. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect fuel supply line. See FUEL LINE CONNECTOR . Remove throttle body. See THROTTLE BODY under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
- Remove EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube. Remove drive belt. Disconnect generator cable, harness connector and harness pin-type retainer. Remove generator mounting bracket bolts and generator mounting bracket.
- Remove throttle cable and speed control cable retaining bolts. Unclip cables from crash brackets and position aside. Separate left heated oxygen sensor and transmission harness connectors from bracket at rear of cylinder head. Remove wiring bracket. Disconnect vacuum lines and position aside. Remove crash bracket. Disconnect ground wire from right rear stud. Disconnect generator harness locator retainer from left front stud.
- Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors. Disconnect PCV tube and position aside. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose, EVAP canister purge valve vacuum line and EGR vacuum regulator solenoid harness connector. Remove 4 fuel injection supply manifold retaining studs. Remove fuel injection supply manifold and injectors as a unit. Remove fuel injectors and discard "O" rings.
