Oil Pan - Lower: Installation

  1. Install a new press-in-place gasket into the upper oil pan.

  2. Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pickup tube and position the oil pickup tube in the oil pan.

  3. Position the oil pan in the vehicle.
  4. Install the oil pan pickup tube and bolts.

  5. Install the oil pan and bolts.
    1. Install the longer oil pan bolts.
    2. Install the remaining oil pan bolts.
    • Tighten to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).

  6. Lower the engine.
  7. Remove the floor crane and engine lifting attachment.

  8. Remove the special tools.

  9. Position back the cable and install the bolt. Install the RH fan stator stand-off.

  10. NOTE: Tighten the top retaining nut first.

  11. Install the motor mount retaining nuts.
  12. Tighten the exhaust pipe retaining nuts.

  13. Clean and inspect the oil pan drain plug and gasket. Install new, if necessary.

  14. Install the oil drain plug.

  15. Reposition the power steering pump and install the power steering pump bolts.

  16. Install the LH fan stator stand-off.

  17. Install the upper power steering mounting bolts.

  18. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
  19. Install the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  20. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  21. Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to AIR CONDITIONING .
  22. Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  23. Run the engine and check for leaks.
