Crankshaft Rear Seal: Installation

    NOTE: Lubricate the outer diameter of the rubber seal with a solution of dish soap and water (approximately 50/50 mix) prior to assembly. Do not use any other type of lubricant.
    NOTE: The crankshaft rear oil seal and wear sleeve are installed as an assembly.
  1. Apply a bead of High Strength Threadlocker around the circumference of the outer rear edge of the secondary crankshaft flange.
  2. Using the special tool, install the crankshaft rear oil seal.

  3. Install the flywheel front adapter.

  4. Install the flexplate and new bolts.
    • Snug to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
    • Tighten to 94 Nm (69 lb-ft) in the sequence shown in Fig 3.

  5. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - TORQSHIFT .
