Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

    All vehicles 

    CAUTION: To prevent engine damage, you must always install four new bolts when installing the vibration damper.
    NOTE: Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any lubricants. Lubricants have an adverse effect on the torque results.
  1. Install the crankshaft vibration damper and bolts and tighten in the following sequence, in three stages:
    • Stage 1: Tighten in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 2: Tighten to 68 Nm (50 lb-ft).
    • Stage 3: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

  2. Install the accessory drive belt.

  3. Vehicles with dual generator 

  4. Install the dual generator pulley and bolts.

  5. Install the dual generator accessory drive belt.

  6. All vehicles 

  7. Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  8. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
