Oil Level Indicator and Tube: Removal

    All Vehicles 

  1. Remove the engine air cleaner (ACL) and the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  2. Remove the LH exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD - LH .

    3. Vehicles with 4.6L engine 

  3. Remove the oil level indicator and the retaining nut.

    4. Vehicles with 5.4L engine 

  4. Remove the oil level indicator and the retaining nut.

    5. All Vehicles 

    NOTE: 5.4L shown; 4.6L similar.
  5. Remove the bolt and the oil level tube.
    • Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  6. Inspect the oil level indicator tube for damage.
