Ignition Switch: Removal

Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
Pull the steering column opening cover off the lower instrument panel.

NOTE: For clarity, the driver side knee brace and the steering column opening reinforcement are not shown in Fig 2. It is not necessary to remove these items to remove the ignition switch.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the ignition switch.
Remove the ignition switch screws and the ignition switch.
