Tie Rod End - Outer: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the tie rod end castellated nut.
    1. Remove the cotter pin.
    2. Remove the nut.

  3. Using the Pitman Arm Puller, remove the tie rod end ball stud from the front wheel spindle (3105).

  4. Remove the tie rod end (3A130).
    1. Loosen the bolts on the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp (3287).
    2. Count the number of turns required to remove the tie rod end from the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp.
