Transfer Case

NOTE: New transfer case lubricant must be installed any time the transfer case has been submerged in water. The transfer case is lubricated for life and is not to be checked unless a leak is suspected or a repair is necessary.

Remove the drain plug and allow the transfer case fluid to drain. See Fig 1 . Apply thread sealant to the drain plug. Install the drain plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

CAUTION: Transfer case failure can result if the correct fill procedures are not followed.

Remove the fill plug. See Fig 2 . Fill the transfer case with appropriate fluid. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS . Fluid should be even with the bottom of the fill hole. Apply sealant to the fill plug and install the plug. Tighten fill plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
