TCC Mode (Drive Mode)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, 2002 Lincoln Town Car, 2002 Ford Crown Victoria, 2001 Mercury Mountaineer, and 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

This mode is used to test TCC engagement and disengagement. With TCC solenoid on or off, ensure gearshift lever is in "D" position and vehicle speed is more than 2 MPH. If TCC solenoid is on, ensure transmission is in 2nd gear or higher, TFT is 60-275°F (16-135°C), brakes are not applied at 20 MPH or less, and engine load is not excessive (i.e., engine lugging).
