OSC Preliminary Procedures

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, 2002 Lincoln Town Car, 2002 Ford Crown Victoria, 2001 Mercury Mountaineer, and 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Perform the following procedures in order before entering into OSC modes:

Select Vehicle and Engine Selection.
Select Diagnostic Data Link.
Select PCM.
Select Output Test Mode.
Select KOEO On-Demand Self Test and KOER On-Demand Self Tests.
Perform tests and record DTCs.
Repair all non-transmission-related DTCs.
Repair all VSS and TR sensor DTCs.
Ensure VSS and TR sensors are functional.
Select Active Command Modes.
Select Trans-Bench Mode or Trans-Drive Mode.
