Shift Solenoid Assemblies

- On/off solenoids (2) are used for electronic shift scheduling. Solenoids used are Shift Solenoid No. 1 (SSA) and Shift Solenoid No. 2 (SSB). Solenoids provide gear selection by controlling pressure to 3 shift valves located in valve body. See SOLENOID OPERATION CHART

(3) Transmission is in 2nd gear until vehicle speed decreases to less than calibrated speed. - When shift solenoid is always off, failure could be due to PCM and/or vehicle wiring malfunction, and/or solenoid electrically, hydraulically or mechanically stuck off.
