Removal and Installation

All vehicles
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to
JACKING & LIFTING
.
Vehicles with automatic transmission
- Remove the fluid level indicator.
- Remove the transmission fluid fill tube nut.
- Position aside the transmission fluid filler tube.
All vehicles
- Remove the turbocharger heat shield.
- Disconnect the injector control pressure (ICP) and the injector pressure regulator (IPR) valve sensor electrical connectors.
- Remove the IPR valve.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply clean engine oil to the IPR valve prior to installing it.

NOTE:
Use a 1-3/8 inch 12-point deep flare nut crowfoot wrench, such as a Snap-on® AN850822B or equivalent, to remove the valve.
