Line Pressure Tests

CAUTION:
Perform line pressure test before stall speed test. If line pressure is low at stall speed, do not perform stall speed test or transmission damage will occur. Do not maintain Wide Open Throttle (WOT) in any gear for more than 5 seconds. If engine RPM exceeds maximum specified stall speed, release accelerator immediately. Clutch or band slippage is indicated.
WARNING:
If equipped with Power Take-Off (PTO), ensure unit is turned off before performing this test.
- Connect a 0-300 psi (0-21.1 kg/cm2 ) pressure gauge to line pressure tap on left side of transmission case just forward of control lever. See Fig 1.
- With engine at normal operating temperature, apply parking and service brakes. Check line pressure in all ranges. Pressure should be as specified. See LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table.
