Transmission Control Switch Or Transmission Control Indicator Lamp

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2002 Lincoln Navigator, 2002 Ford Expedition, 2001 Lincoln Navigator, 2001 Ford RV Cutaway, and 2001 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Transmission Control Switch (TCS) is a momentary control switch. Switch is mounted on gearshift lever with Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL). Switch controls operation of 4th gear. TCIL indicates overdrive cancel mode activated (light on) and Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) circuit shorted (light flashing) or monitored sensor failure. Malfunction of switch will cause lack of 4th gear disable function.
