Axle Shaft: Removal

  1. Remove the axle shaft bolts.
    • Place a drain pan under the rear hub (1109).

  2. Remove the axle shaft (4234).

  3. Inspect the following components:
    • The rear axle shaft gasket for damage, install new gasket as necessary.
    • The axle shaft for cracks around the bolt holes.
