Rear Safety Belt Retractor - Second and Third Row, Outboard, Excursion: Installation

Third row retractor only
- Install the third row safety belt retractor.
- Position the third row safety belt retractor to the body.
- Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), install the bolt.
Second row retractor only
- Install the second row safety belt retractor.
- Position the second row safety belt retractor to the body.
- Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), install the bolt.
Passenger side with auxiliary climate control only
- Position the climate control duct and install the pin-type retainers.
Both sides
- Route the second and third row safety belt anchors and guides through the B-pillar trim panel.
- Position the quarter trim panel to the body and connect the power point electrical connector.
- Install the third row shoulder safety belt guide.
- Position the shoulder safety belt guide.
- Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), install the bolt.
- Reposition the shoulder safety belt guide cover.
- Install the second row shoulder safety belt guide.
- Position the shoulder safety belt guide.
- Install the nut.
- Close the shoulder safety belt guide cover.
- Remove the shipping clip(s) from the safety belt retractor(s).
- Position the quarter trim panel and push in on it securing the fasteners.
- Install the third row safety belt anchor.
- Position the safety belt anchor.
- Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), install the bolt.
- Install the second row safety belt anchor.
- Position the safety belt anchor.
- Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), install the bolt.
- Install the pin-type retainers into the quarter trim panel.
- Reposition the floor covering back along the rear quarter trim panel.
- Position the C-pillar trim panel and push in on it, securing the fasteners.
Driver side only
- Position the spare tire mounting plate and install the bolts.
- Install the spare tire.
Passenger side only
- Position the D-pillar trim panel and push in on it to secure the fasteners.
- Position the rear hatch scuff plate and push down on it to secure the fasteners.
- Position the rear hatch upper trim panel and push up on it to secure the fasteners.
Both sides
- Reposition the weatherstripping. Position the rear door scuff plate and push down on it to secure the fasteners.
- Position the floor finish panel and push down on it to secure the fasteners.
- Install the second and third row seat belt guide inserts into the quarter trim panel.
- Install the third row seat.
- Readjust the second row seat.
- Check the restraints system for correct operation.
CAUTION:
Do not remove the shipping clip until the shoulder safety belt guide is secured in position. Allowing the safety belt to be retracted further into the safety belt retractor may cause the safety belt retractor to lock and not release the safety belt.

NOTE:
Do not secure the quarter trim panel as the shipping clip(s) will need to be removed from the safety belt retractor(s) later.

Driver side is shown, passenger side is similar.

Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide and cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide or cover is damaged or cover does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide.
