Removal and Installation

    NOTE: The window must be in the raised position.
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the exterior door handle. Refer to EXTERIOR REAR DOOR HANDLE - CREW CAB, EXCURSION .
  3. Remove the lock linkage guide clip from the rear door.

  4. Disconnect the door lock actuating rod from the latch.
    • Release the clip.
    • Disconnect the rod.

  5. Remove the clip.

  6. Remove the screws and position the rear door latch aside.

  7. Remove the rear door latch cable cover.

  8. Disconnect the cable and conduit.
    1. Release the cable conduit.
    2. Disconnect the cable.

  9. Remove the rear door latch.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    2. Remove the latch.

  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
