Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the rear quad bucket seats from the vehicle. Refer to REAR SEAT - QUAD BUCKET, CREW CAB .
  2. Remove the lumbar knob.

  3. Remove the side shield screw.

  4. Remove the recliner handle cover screw and remove the handle cover.

  5. Remove the screw from the behind the recliner handle.

  6. Remove the pin-type retainer from the rear of the side shield.

  7. Remove the two screws from under the front of the side shield.

  8. Remove the side shield, being careful not to scratch the side shield at the recliner handle.
  9. Remove the two screws and remove the lumbar adjuster.

  10. NOTE: The lumbar assembly must be fully relaxed.

  11. Unclip the lumbar control cable from the actuator.
  12. NOTE: Note the route of the lumbar cable for installation.
  13. Route the lumbar cable through the seat cushion and frame.
  14. Remove the two cushion-to-latch bolts.

  15. NOTE: Do not damage the plastic pivot bushing when removing the seat backrest. Pull the front seat backrest away from the seat hinge and feed the lumbar cable and heating element wire through the seat cushion opening.

  16. Carefully pry the backrest pivot bushing apart from the cushion pin and remove the backrest assembly.
  17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
