Bulb - Headlamp, Aerodynamic Lamps: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Pickup, 2004 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2004 Ford F450 Super Duty, 2004 Ford Excursion, and 2004 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: The halogen bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the glass envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope.
NOTE: The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a new bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may effect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamp with the bulb removed from the headlamp.
NOTE: Make sure that the headlamp switch and the ignition switch are in the OFF position.
  1. Disconnect the headlamp connector.
  2. Remove the headlamp bulb.
    1. Rotate the headlamp bulb retainer counterclockwise one-eighth turn and remove.
    2. Remove the headlamp bulb.
